The 4 principles of product development
As I already mentioned here, I am writing my 4th book, and I would love to read your comments and opinion on a very central theme of the book.
This book will be about Digital Transformation, that is, about how companies can extract maximum value and results from the use of technology by offering a better experience in the customer journey and operational efficiency gains from automation and process improvements. from the company.
I am centering the book on 4 product development principles that, in my view and experience, are essential to increase the chances of success in a digital transformation journey.
The 4 principles are those that I have shared in several articles and that I reproduce below:
- Fast and frequent deliveries: you can’t want to innovate and make new products by making monthly or quarterly deliveries of code.
- Focus on the problem: understand the problem well and only then think about possible solutions. Test different hypotheses to see which solves better and faster.
- Delivering results: what a product development team has to deliver are results. Product, app, feature, algorithm are not the goal, they are means to deliver results.
- Ecosystem mentality: it’s the focus on the customer, only with a boost. Every company has more than one customer, and you need to understand these different types of customers and their relationships.
What do you think? Are these principles also important in your day-to-day life? How do they help you?
